ADVERTISING AND PROMOTING WITH AMAZING STORIES

Advertising

Amazing Stories has just begun and has not yet reached its full potential audience.  Therefore at this time, advertising rates are being handled on an individually negotiated basis until such time as we can provide audience and advertising metrics.

To view our current rate card, download the AMAZING STORIES RATE CARD

If you can’t wait (please don’t), contact us through the Advertising email address.  Make sure to provide us with a brief summary of the size, location and run-time for your desired ad program.  Details regarding ad formats, dimensions and placement can be found below.

Please note that we will not accept word link ads of any kind (regardless of the word or subject of the ad) at any time.

Please note that we will not “trade links”, nor participate in other marketing programs that seek to artificially increase traffic.

Website Advertising

In order to provide a basis for calculating ad rates, we have created three different advertiser categories.  These are loosely defined categories, so please contact us for an assessment of which category is appropriate for your company.

Corporate Advertiser – Large Entity

If you sell cars, electronics, get-rich-quick schemes, operate on an international basis (or nationally with offices in multiple states), have more than 100 employees and don’t produce anything of a science fiction, fantasy or horror nature, your company probably falls into this category. (Unless you are NASA.)

If you are an imprint of a Big 6 publisher, a film or games production/promotion company or make millions selling genre-themed T-shirts, your company probably falls into this category (so long as your books, films and games are genre-oriented).

Corporate Advertiser – Small Entity

If you are a small or indie press or a self-publishing author your company probably falls into this category.

Fan

Conventions (non-media type), fanzines, for-the-love-of websites, someone making custom jewelry for fans, a costumer, or someone offering services to writers/small press on a freelance basis, you probably fall into this category.

Government & charitable organizations will fall somewhere between the Small Press & Fan categories.

Rates

The highest rates will apply to Corporate level advertisers, the lowest rates to Fannish enterprises.

In general, rates will be calculated based on CPM and will be commensurate with industry standards.  All ads are placed in rotation – premiums apply for exclusivity.

The Current Rate Card is available as a downloadable PDF, which can be obtained by clicking HERE.

Guidelines & Policies

All content on Amazing Stories is “family friendly” (with the occasional caveat or NSFW warning);  as such the content AND destination of all ads must conform to those sensibilities.  Borderline items will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

We discount an advertising programs that consists of multiple month insertions, for ads in multiple locations and for pre-paying an ad run.  Discounts are cumulative.  (See the Rate Card for details.)

We will not place any advertising without an advertising contract and insertion order.  Advertisers are responsible for and contractually obligated to pay for their full contracted run – especially in cases where the advertiser pulls their ads (for any reason) prior to the completion of the run.  Refunds may be offered – after the contract has been paid in full.

To begin an advertising run, the initial insertion must be paid for in advance; billing will be conducted on a monthly basis thereafter.

Net terms may be extended to appropriate customers.  Bills more than 15 days past due will cause any and all ads to be pulled until such time as the bill is brought up to date.

Amazing Stories is not monetarily responsible for loss of exposure and advertising time in the event of server downtime, your ad-server downtime, website downtime, viruses, malware attacks, denial of service attacks, nuclear armageddon  the robot apocalypse,  natural disasters or the wanton acts of superior intelligences.  In the event of the Singularity, no one will need advertising or money.. Lost advertising time will be compensated for with an appropriate extension of the ad run.

Finally:  Amazing Stories and the Experimenter Publishing Company reserve the right to deny advertising and promotional opportunities to anyone, for any reason, at any time, with or without cause and is under no obligation to explain or justify such refusal..  Furthermore, Amazing Stories and the Experimenter Publishing Company may withdraw advertisements and promotions from public display, at any time, for any reason, with or without cause and is only responsible for refunding the unused portion of any advertising balance that may apply within a reasonable period of time.
